Hyundai Adds Fuel-Efficient Engine to Sonata Sedan

If you’ve been looking for an upscale sedan with a fuel-efficient engine, Hyundai has the answer. Its 2009 Sonata has exactly that – a luxury atmosphere with an engine that gives awesome fuel economy.

In addition to a new engine, the 2009 Hyundai Sonata has several other improvements over previous models. First of all, it has a new interior that’s sure to impress even the most discerning car buyer. From the driver’s seat, you can barely hear the noise from the outside, making for a calm and quiet ride. It also has a new dash with an all-new and more elegant instrument panel.

The outside might even be more impressive than the inside. A choice of engines accompanies the 2009 Hyundai Sonata. Depending on the trim level you choose, you could get a 2.4-liter I-4 or a 3.3-liter V6. Whichever engine you choose, rest assured that the engineers at Hyundai have made them even more powerful than last year’s models while making them fun more efficiently.

The best part about the 2009 Hyundai Sonata is the price. They start out around $20,000 and go up from there depending on the features you want on yours. With all of these great attributes, why not visit a local dealer and see if one of these Hyundai cars available for you?

Four Tips before Buying Your Next Used Ford Auto

Buying a certified used Ford auto is a great way to get a bargain on a quality vehicle. These used cars typically go through a rigorous process to ensure they are a higher quality than a regular used car. But it still helps to do you homework when buying one to ensure you’re getting the best bang for your buck. Here are some things to do before driving one off the lot.

Consider getting a second opinion. Although the certified Ford mechanics have gone over every inch of the car, it doesn’t hurt to get an independent mechanic to take a peek. You can get a mechanic to test it out for less than $100.

Get a background check. Getting a vehicle history report from CarFax offers more peace of mind for your vehicle. As a certified used Ford auto, the vehicle should be accident-free. Doing your own research just makes you feel better about your purchase.

Ask for the checklist. Mechanics go through a rigorous checklist before slapping the “certified” label on a used Ford auto. Ask for a copy of the checklist so if something happens down the road, you’ll know if it was something that was checked or not.

Know the warranty. Certified vehicles almost always come with an extended warranty. Know what the warranty for your used Ford auto says before making your final decision.

Certified Ford cars are a great way to get a like-new car at a less expensive price. But taking a few precautions is ideal for added peace of mind.

New Features Abound for the 2008 Hyundai Accent

The Hyundai Accent has been gaining popularity in the North American market for a decade. It has the reputation of having a decent quality at an affordable price. The 2008 Hyundai Accent continues that reputation, but it also adds some features that are catching the eyes of new customers.

One of the most popular new features for the 2008 Hyundai Accent is three months of free service to the subscription-based XM Satellite Radio service. This is ideal for those long commutes or trips because you never drive out of the range of the signal for your favorite station. In addition to that, the 2008 Hyundai Accent also includes a jack that allows you to hook up your MP3 player so it plays through the speakers in the car.

The 2008 Hyundai Accent is available in three different styles – a four-door GLS sedan, a three-door GS model or a sporty SE model. Each of these include a four-cylinder engine that offers enough power for driving, but you won’t be able to “peel away” from a stop light if you’re trying to race somebody. The engine also combines low emissions and the fuel efficiency you’d expect from a Hyundai.

If you visit your local dealer, you can see these Hyundai cars for yourself the base price typically starts at around $15,000 for basic models. You can, however, get a sportier version with some added features for just a few hundred dollars more.

Ford Hybrid Cars Tweaked for Performance

Two Ford hybrid cars are getting some upgrades in order to improve their performance and keep them as efficient as possible. The 2009 Mercury Mariner and the Escape Ford hybrid cars (or compact SUVs, actually) are getting “upgraded engines, electronic controls and brakes.”

With the Ford Escape hybrid, the upgrades are going to increase its fuel economy by about one mile per gallon in the city. Its highway fuel economy, however, will stay the same at an impressive 34 mpg. The new engine includes increased horsepower with smoother acceleration to save fuel.

In addition to an upgraded engine, these two Ford hybrid cars are getting new computers that help them to transition when switching “from electric-only power to a combination of electric and gasoline.” This new feature is also going to help increase the gas mileage.

The third innovation for these Ford hybrid cars is the new brake sensors. The vehicles’ regenerative braking system stores energy from the brakes in the battery so they feel more like traditional brakes, giving the driver a better sense of control when stopping.

Prices for these upgraded 2009 Ford hybrid cars start at about $29,000 for the Escape. That’s just up a little from the 2008 prices of about $27,500. For the Mariner, the base price is just less than $30,000, up from about $28,000 in 2008. Check out these upgraded Ford cars and see how the automaker continues to increase the quality of its vehicles.

Wisconsin Students Win 2008 Ford Skills Competition

In a recent 2008 Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills competition, two Wisconsin students impressed the judges with their victory. They led their “fully repaired 2008 Ford Focus to victory” in the 59th annual competition that gives the best technologically savvy students the chance to resolve automotive challenges that engineers face today. To encourage students to compete in this popular competition, the Ford Motor Company and AAA team up and provide $7 million in scholarships to several prize winners in the running.

Paul Bretl and Chris Cheek are the two winning students for this year. The two graduates of Wisconsin’s Grafton High School crossed the finish line just less than 74 minutes. To complete their creation, they “logged hundreds of hours” in recent months under the supervision of their instructor, Carl Hader. In addition to the scholarships, the two lucky winners also earned the chance to “job shadow” Ford’s Roush Fenway Racking No. 6 team for one week in North Carolina. They also served as “honorary members of the pit crew at the July 12 Spring Cup Series race” at the famous Chicagoland Speedway.

John Morse, the manager of the 2008 Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills competition, had this to say about the winners: “Paul and Chris demonstrated they are the preeminent high school auto technicians in the country.” He also said that the 100 finalists “proved their expertise” and their ideas and enthusiasm are good signs for new Ford cars and the future of the auto industry.

Students from all 50 states competed in this 2008 Ford event which was held at the automaker’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.

Hyundai Puts Faith in Genesis

Hyundai is quickly becoming one of the most recognized names in the auto industry. Currently, it has the reputation of producing inexpensive cars for fuel-conscious drivers and families. But with its new creation – Genesis – officials at Hyundai are hoping to give consumers another impression: Hyundai can also produce luxury-type vehicles with amazing features.

The Genesis is a first for Hyundai as it’s the first luxury sedan from the Korean automaker. Hyundai is going to bring it to the United States first before promoting it in other markets like Russia, China and the Middle East.

So far, the Hyundai Genesis is off to a good start. Dealers have sold more than 2,000 units in the United States alone. That’s why the automaker has set aside an $80 million budget to begin an advertising campaign that continues to market the high-end vehicle. Hyundai hopes to sell at least 50,000 units of this model by the end of the year. Officials are hoping its reasonable price will be enough to lure customers to their local Hyundai dealer to check out the new Genesis. Why not swing by and check one out today? From the sound of it, these are very impressive vehicles with even more impressive prices.

The Benefits Of Toyota Fuel Economy

With high gas prices, everyone is talking about Toyota fuel economy. It seems that folks who never would have otherwise considered a hybrid are suddenly in the market for a hybrid like the Toyota Prius.

Here are some of the main reasons people give today for wanting a hybrid vehicle:

  1. Hybrid vehicles help reduce pollution. Because the electric engine in a hybrid doesn’t produce the same kinds of pollutants that a regular gasoline engine produces, hybrid vehicles are cleaner and better for the environment.
  2. Hybrid vehicles use less fossil fuels. Because their fuel economy is so much less, hybrids reduce the amount of oil used. This has a number of benefits, not the least of which is a lessened dependence on foreign sources of oil.
  3. Hybrid vehicles save you money on gas. No, at $2 a gallon, savings on gasoline alone won’t make up the difference in cost between a regular vehicle and a hybrid. But as gas prices increase (some speculate we’ll see $5 per gallon soon) this becomes a much more reasonable argument.
  4. Finally, hybrid vehicles demonstrate responsibility. In some ways, driving a hybrid helps keep awareness of these issues on peoples’ minds. This isn’t a self-righteous thing, it’s just a way to open up the discussion about fossil fuels and environmental issues.

Employees have Opportunity to Test Drive Ford Hybrid Cars

Can you imagine being one of the first people to take the new Ford hybrid cars for a test drive? That’s exactly what the Ford Motor Company is letting many of its employees do with some of the hybrids and latest Ford cars to roll off the assembly line.

The new effort was designed to instill a renewed sense of confidence in Ford hybrid cars. It began earlier this month and ended yesterday, but not before some 4,000 regular employees and retirees were given the opportunity to enjoy the latest technology on a top-secret test track somewhere in the farthest reaches of Dearborn, Michigan.

But Ford hybrid cars weren’t the only new products they enjoyed. Some drivers were lucky enough to test drive the newest Mustang model and the new Fusion that won’t even hit dealer lots until next year. Heck, the public hasn’t even seen photos of some of the cars that they drove!

One major reason for giving employees and retirees this opportunity is to raise spirits and morale. Michigan’s economy isn’t exactly the best in the nation right now. People all around are losing their jobs and their homes every day. This was just one thing the Ford Motor Company could think of to help workers raise their spirits and look on the brighter side of their jobs.

I don’t know about you, but I think I’d feel pretty darn good taking a new Mustang out on a private test track for a couple hours.

Teaching Teens Pennslvania Automotive Driving Tips

The day that your teenager gets old enough to take a driver’s training course, your world (and the Pennsylvania automotive world) changes drastically. Suddenly, you remember your days as a youth, and the struggle you had with learning to drive. You begin to worry for your child’s safety, and begin to make plans to add the teen to your insurance policy. You might even begin looking for a used car for your teen.

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind before you get into your Toyota hybrid and begin teaching your teen to drive:

Know the rules yourself

If you don’t know what the traffic laws are in Pennsylvania and in your local area, then you’re going to have a hard time teaching your teen what those laws are. Take some time to do a little bit of research, too, to see if anything has changed since you last took a driving test.

Be a role model for your teen

Your teen’s driving habits will, very often, become an extension of your own. If you frequently tailgate, or if you refuse to use turn signals, it is likely that your teen will pick up some of those bad habits. ON the other hand, if you drive defensively, your teen probably will, too.
