Calling and driving not a good combination

Every year there are many victims caused by driving and calling at the same time.  Mobile calling leads to dangerous handling. A driver who is calling get distract in two different ways. Physically, when the  have to hold the phone but also drive the car. Mentally, the driver has divide his attention between the phone and driving.

Holding phones while driving increases the risk of an accident. The risk of crashing during mobile calling is four times higher than not being called. Handsfree calling is a little safer, but losing your concentration is also a risk. In Holland it is forbidden to call in the car when you’re driving, it is also forbidden holding your phone while driving.

According to the Dutch Foundation for Road Safety Research (SWOV) 20 – 30 percent of the accidents are caused in traffic. The SWOV) estimates that each year approximately 600 traffic incidents are caused by calling during driving. The number of people who are using their phone during driving are increased because of the popularity of smartphones. So while your drive leave you Samsun Galaxy S, HTC Sensation or whatever kind of smartphone you may have at home!
